When you remember me, please don’t weep
This beautiful poem by Emma Marie Atwell provided great comfort for me when I recently lost my mother. I hope she will forgive me for tinkering a little with her words.
“When you remember me please don’t weep,
My body was tired and I chose to sleep,
I’m not far away, my soul lives on,
I watch over you and everyone.
When you feel sad, and life seems so blue,
My arms will always be wrapped around you.
So don’t be sad, have no fear,
I am with God but will always be near.
I’ll be with you, every hour, every day,
My soul walks beside you and that’s where I’ll stay.”
